Our Supply Chain Environmental Management Systems Nefab strives for all production units to implement and maintain an environmental management system (ISO 14001:2015 or similar) in order to sustain a high level of identification, management, and control of environmental concerns, as well as to monitor and improve resource efficiency and waste reduction in our facilities around the world. "We have an extended network of suppliers that make up the foundation of our sustainable sourcing practices, providing us with materials used to develop complete packaging solutions for our customers. In our sites, we are constantly seeking new ways to lower our own carbon footprint in order to meet the Paris agreement." Alexander Lindborg Head of Corporate Sourcing Evaluation of Suppliers Nefab conducts thorough supplier evaluations, which cover a wide range of facets of our business with them. One of these is based on environmental impact, and because the rating in this area has a significant effect on a supplier’s overall score, we can use it to control the minimum level of compliance and motivate suppliers to provide more environmentally friendly components and solutions. Additionally, to work with Nefab, suppliers must agree to comply with our Code of Conduct, which includes a commitment to human rights, fair labor standards, and health and safety, among many other important aspects of our business. Maximizing responsible material sourcing Through diligent sourcing and high supply standards, Nefab commits to procuring from suppliers who source their own materials in a responsible and sustainable manner. In the case of wood-based materials, our primary focus is working with suppliers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) where possible to ensure that the materials that go into making Nefab products come from a place of responsibility and care. Nefab is FSC® certified (FSC® C148116) to sell certified products. In addition, Nefab adheres to a strict list of banned and restricted substances in the supply of each manufacturing facility across our regions. This guarantees that Nefab products do not contain any toxic substances, conflict minerals, nanomaterials, or other similar substances that could be harmful to the people and environment around them.
Our Supply Chain United Nations Global Compact The United Nations Global Compact is a strategic policy initiative for businesses committed to aligning their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and anti-corruption. Nefab signed the United Nations Global Compact in October 2008 and has continued to support the initiative since then. We implement improvement actions that align with the principles outlined in various areas of our business and evaluate our progress on an annual basis.
